Tour de Force

By: CHARLOTTE TRATTNER

With the summer season upon us, the lineup of musical talent heading to South Florida is loud, diverse, and stomp-your-feet good. From festivals and rock shows to acoustic play on nostalgia, here are our top picks for the concerts you won’t want to miss.

1/ Tears for Fears
JUNE 09
iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre
West Palm Beach

Just months after releasing their first record in 17 years, Tears for Fears launched the first leg of The Tipping Point World Tour, which brings them to West Palm Beach. “We couldn’t be more excited,” shared Curt Smith, the lead vocalist. “We’ve missed seeing our friends on the road around the world and the energy of performing live.”

2/ Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Poison & Joan Jett
JUNE 18
Hard Rock Stadium
Miami Gardens

This performance has been in the works for more than two years. Finally, the iconic rock legends are joining together for this summer’s performance in a delightfully cacophonous all-star lineup, featuring some of the hottest bands of the 80s. Get ready for big hair and even bigger drum sounds synonymous with the era.

3/ Rolling Loud
JULY 22–24
Hard Rock Stadium
Miami Gardens

The three-day, largest hip-hop music festival in the world returns for its 7th year with major headliners like Kendrick Lamar, Ye, and Future. Rolling Loud is also the starriest of gatherings, booking the best rappers from across the country, and is the best attended. The tens of thousands of tickets tend to vanish within minutes. Get yours before they are gone.

4/ Red Hot Chili Peppers
AUGUST 30
Hard Rock Stadium
Miami Gardens

After 30 years of global superstardom, expect RHCP to perform hits like “Under the Bridge” and “Give It Away,” as well as new music from their 12th studio album, Unlimited Love, their first with guitarist John Frusciante since Stadium Arcadium in 2006.
