The founder of Collecto, a luxury wedding registry and homeware retailer, is a visionary. Through her dynamic platform and years of claw sharpening at Moda Operandi, Frederika Longinotti celebrates the savior fair by way of personalized collections and tablescapes. An innate hostess, this recent Miami transplant shares tips on seeking inspiration and wedding registry faux pas.

Since I was very young, I loved getting people together and hosting dinners at home. While I was curating my wedding registry, I realized I wanted distinctive pieces and I couldn’t find that anywhere, so I launched Collecto.”

I am most inspired when I visit a new place which brings forth a high level of curiosity and excitement.”

My favorite designers are Oscar de la Renta and Carolina Herrera – they enhance a woman’s femininity and elegance impeccably. My favorite architects are Gio Ponti, and my grandfather Federico Beckhoff, who was a prominent architect in my home country of Venezuela.”

When I design a table I think about the purpose of the gathering – is there a theme, a special occasion or a particular mood? Based on that, I create a mood board with various images representing color palettes, textures and the feelings I want to evoke. From there I curate the tablescape, where I play with different combinations of plates, glasses and flatware until it all comes together.”

For wedding registry choose versatile glassware and flatware that will work with multiple dinnerware sets. A timeless, classic white dinnerware set will go a long way. Only select pieces that you will be excited to receive, and your guests will be excited to gift. Add a full set of chargers, dinner, and dessert plates if you like hosting formal dinners, or Martini glasses and coupes if cocktail parties are your thing.”

I’m loving The Bramante Giallo tray right now, an exquisite marble centerpiece in a unique mustard hue, the Picanto Salt & Pepper Mill, for its impeccable craftsmanship, sophisticated yet quirky design and the Fungo Natural Centerpiece. It’s sleek, timeless,
modern.”
