BERKSHIRE HATHAWAY HOMESERVICES EWM REALTY NOT ONLY HELPS WITH HOME BUYING BUT ALSO WITH HOME BUILDING.
Though luxury real estate has come to define Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices EWM Realty, its mission to help everyone find great housing has been at the core of its three-decade long relationship with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami. According to HFH CEO Mario Artecona, this affiliation “entails the financial support to help us build a home for families, but also for associates and management to ‘roll up their sleeves’ to physically help build that house alongside that family,” says Artecona. “It is not only a financial commitment, but an emotional one as well.” This bond has been forged during such activations as the “Blitz Build,” supported by over 70 BHHS volunteers, who dedicate a two-week period towards construction of several houses. Such dedication is no surprise to Ron Shuffield, BHHS EWM Realty president, who has long believed in the altruism of his team. “It’s gratifying to see how many good, hard-working people live within our community,” says Shuffield. “Working side-by-side with the new owners in the midst of building their homes is a very uplifting experience.” BHHS’ sponsorship is also supporting the development of community by bridging the gap between low-income families and greater opportunities. According to Artecona, this very much aligns with BHHS’ ethos. “They’re continuing to do what they do best, which is putting people in homes.”
