PALM SPRINGS PATCH

By: ERIN MICHELLE NEWBERG

Steve Hermann, the mastermind behind L’Horizon and The Colony Palms in Palm Springs, California, has recently opened the doors to Hermann Bungalows, his latest show-stopping project. The architectural designer cum style maven, who used to design A-listers homes, shares his personal favorites not to be missed when visiting the heart of the desert.

SHOPPING / I absolutely love The Webster and Tina Turk for clothing. However, I never leave without visiting Christopher Anthony and A La MOD for furniture.

CHIC LUNCH / Jake’s is always a great idea because it has a cute courtyard. It’s very conveniently located for some fantastic furniture shopping. There are many wondrous shops on that block.

DON’T FORGET/ When in Palm Springs, embrace doing nothing and chill out by the pool. People are too busy these days, and this city is one of the best places to turn everything off and truly relax.

LOCAL GEM / Just look at the dramatic mountains that surround us.

LOCAL FIX / I always jump in my car and get lost in surrounding residential neighborhoods. Palm Springs has the most intact mid-century modern neighborhoods in the entire world, so it is like stepping back in time.

EVENING ACTIVITIES / SOPA restaurant is the best idea for a romantic evening underneath the stars. I also love The Colony Club for a lively experience.
