All Aboard

How Regent Seven Seas Splendor is exceeding all maritime expectations.

This summer, a lavish getaway was calling my name. With no desire to be running into the ‘who’s who’ in Italy, Greece, and France, I realized that I could visit countries I had never conquered – aboard a vessel that would take me to many dreamy destinations.

Enter Regent Seven Seas Splendor, a five-star floating mansion with 14 suite categories to choose from. This vessel delivers unparalleled service and sprawling spaces in your cabin and on the deck while reigning over the seas.

With a maximum of 748 passengers aboard and 548 crew, the Splendor redefines an all-inclusive experience, so why not fulfill desires while basking in the riches of multiple cities and not having to pack, unpack, and schlep from airport to airport, hotel to hotel? One overweight suitcase later, a Baltic dream became a reality, and with no expectations except to unwind, sip, sup, and explore countries like Denmark, Sweden, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, and the ship herself – my dreams became the perfect reality.

Upon check-in, I was escorted to our suite space I’d call home for the following ten days. My emotions erupted from the art on the walls and the orchids in spectacular vases. It all felt so right. A housekeeper, her assistant, and a dedicated butler miraculously arrived to greet us. Tuxedoed Vishnu dazzled with his service that was as tailored as his suit. Going above and beyond, I would soon learn that guests who book Distinctive Suites enjoy personalized butler service. That included handling dining reservations, in-suite breakfast orders, ensuring customized pillow choices, and the like. Designed by Studio Dado, Tillberg Design, and Total Solution Interiors, my suite blended comfort and luxury with impeccable detail, featuring high-contrast materials and lush jewel-toned accents. Larger than your average New York City apartment, the Penthouse Suite, which felt like a two-bedroom dwelling, boasted a show-stopping walk-in closet, a cream-hued marble-clad bathroom with Duravit appliances, bath products by Guerlain and Acqua di Parma, and in some cases, Dyson blow-dryers and baby grand piano. The living room featured a comfortable couch (from which I bid farewell to the land while sipping on Dom Perignon champagne poured by Vishnu) beneath a massive, mounted screen for all your movie-watching and itinerary-scrolling needs. By the way, my agenda included visits to Tallinn, Estonia, where I partook in half-day bike tour of the Open Air Museum Park, and a dive into the architectural marvels of Helsinki, Finland to name but a few of the on-land attractions.

From the small details like crystal Lalique vases with fresh flower arrangements to the 24-hour room service served on Bernardaud to show-stopping public spaces like the elegantly Zen spa, Regent didn’t miss a beat. Not a dollar was spared in creating this transformative experience.

The Splendor was simply splendid. No matter how large you choose to live on the Seven Seas Splendor, the equal standards of design, comfort, and all-inclusive luxury apply to every room. The same can’t be said about meeting your expectations. Seven Seas Splendor will exceed them by miles, nautical ones, to be exact.
